Do you hear the call?
Does the sight of the full moon in all Her glory stir something within you? Do you feel the call of Nature emanating from the trees and birds and streams? Is there an unfulfilled longing within you for a truly meaningful and personal relationship to the Divine?
Be Well Come, then, to Wicca 101.
In this one-day introductory course, you’ll discover why an estimated 800,000 people worldwide—several hundred thousand in the U.S. alone—have chosen the Craft as their preferred expression of worship, service, and co-creation.
We’ll discuss:
* What Wicca is ... and isn't
* The historical background and development of the Craft
* Modern Witchcraft
* The principles of Wiccan belief
* The Deities: Triple Goddess and Horned God
* The Tools of the Craft
* Ritual Work
Expect that a (voluntary) ritual will be held at the conclusion of the class.
Blessed Be.
Presented by Neva Hyde, a semi-solitary Wicca practitioner and favored daughter of the Goddess, with the assistance of her husband, Lawrence (representing the God).
Wicca 101 is intended first for those with little or no familiarity with the Craft. Experienced practitioners are also welcome to attend. It is likely that they will find much of value, as well.
WICCA 101
Course Description: This is a basic, introductory class to Wicca. It is a general overview and will cover basic definitions, beliefs, background and history. It is not intended to supply all the answers, but will hopefully make one ask more questions.
The days instruction will almost certainly end with a Ceremony (participation optional).

Neva Hyde, RN, Reiki Master
Neva is currently Teaching "Wicca 101" at The Bead Angel.
Along with her husband, Lawrence, (see below) Neva is a regular instructor for Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 at The Bead Angel. We began our 2012 Reiki series with REIKI ONE, complete Attunements and Basic Certification, on Saturday/Sunday, Feb 25 & 26.
REIKI TWO is now scheduled for Sunday, April 22, and the next REIKI ONE after that is scheduled for July 14 & 15.
Neva is a semi-solitary Wicca practitioner and Devotee of the Goddess in Her aspects of Kwan Yin, Goddess of Compassion, and of Diana, Roman Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon. As such, Neva works to empower women through her varied spiritual practices. She completed her Wicca “Year and a Day” under an Illinois High Priestess (some years ago) before setting out to discover the Goddess within herself and within every woman. Today, together with her husband, Lawrence, she invokes the Powers within the dedicated stone circle that graces their rural property.
Neva has experienced the struggle of self-doubt that can afflict the newcomer to any form of metaphysical practice. Her natural skepticism warred with her intuition for years until she asked for - and received - an unmistakable sign that what she sensed and saw was, in fact, quite real. Since that time, her relationship with the Goddess has strengthened and deepened and has led her to guide a number of people onto the Wiccan path — without, however, trying to decree the direction that path should take. Her teachings in Wicca, Reiki and Metaphysics are unquestionably inspired by the gentle but firm touch of the Goddess.
Neva is a highly experienced Registered Nurse who has brought her wisdom, compassion and healing skills to settings as diverse as hospital critical care areas, hospice care, home health care and her own part-time private healing practice. As part of her healing practice, Neva frequently provides spiritual counsel; it is during occasions like these, as well as during her ritual work, that her close connection with the Goddess can be seen, heard and felt.
If you’re looking for knowledge and wisdom without the fancy trappings but with a gentle leavening of humor, you are sure both to like and to benefit from Neva’s straightforward, down-to-earth approach.
Neva will be ably assisted by her spouse and partner, Lawrence.
For the purposes of this class, however, Lawrence is NOT to be considered as acting in the capaciy of a 'Teacher' or 'Wicca Adept'. Indeed, for the entire Wicca Series to come, Lawrence will be acting more in the capacity of a 'Graduate Assistant'....still a student, but with more experience and seniority than the rest of us...
LawrenceHyde, MA, Reiki Master
Lawrence is currently Teaching "Psychic Self and Home Defense" at The Bead Angel. Lawrence is also planning & will be teaching a Complete Introduction to Metaphysics Class Series @ The Bead Angel. Along with his wife, Neva, Lawrence will also be instructing Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 at The Bead Angel. We began our 2012 Reiki Series with REIKI ONE, complete Attunements and Basic Certification, on Saturday, Feb 25, 1-3pm & Sunday, Feb 26, 10am-6pm.
REIKI TWO is now scheduled for Sunday, April 22 and the next REIKI ONE after that is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 & Sunday, July 15.
Lawrence blends the perspective and insight into human nature gained through his former life — 20 years of providing psychotherapy and chemical dependency counseling — with some 35 years’ metaphysical experience. His approach to teaching blends New Age and Pagan thought into a no-nonsense, practical manner of thinking, moving energies and living metaphysically.
Unimpressed with the trappings that accompany much metaphysical practice — but still awed by how cool it all can be — Lawrence favors an experiential, hands-on approach to learning, particularly for those who are relatively new to the esoteric. Knowing that the Universe and the Unseen are far more vast than any one person can comprehend, he firmly believes that people should be guided first and foremost by what THEY have actually seen, felt and heard, rather than by someone else’s perceptions. He is particularly good with those who are just “waking up” to the metaphysical realm, encouraging them to retain their skepticism as they open to the Life within and discover their own paths and truths. Knowing that the beginning steps onto the path can be challenging, he also specializes in teaching Psychic Self-Defense.
The author of two short chemical dependency self-help guides, published in the 1990’s by Hazelden Educational Materials, Lawrence is currently writing “Ready for the Woo-Woo Stuff? A Down-to-Earth Look at the Metaphysical"
